Mrs. Adelaide Prunty Anderson, 78 of Chatham, Va departed this life Sunday morning (04-01-12) at her residence. Born May 8, 1933 in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of Willie Prunty and Pencie Scruggs Prunty. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willie A. Anderson; four sisters, Amanda Gatewood, Laura Hawkins, Parrie Pannell and Ivory Hodnett: five brothers, Kermit, Turner, Sam, Charlie Boyd and Hurt Prunty.
She was a member of the Wilson Memorial Baptist Church, where she served as a member of the choir and was the last member of her immediate generation.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Ann Younger and Ernestine Peerman; two sons, Willie A. Anderson (Brenda) and Ronald Keith Anderson; five grandchildren.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Burial Park, Chatham.
