William W.WASHNOCK Jr. , 71, of Loveland, Colo., died July 2, 2009, at Columbine Care Center West in Fort Collins, surrounded by his family.
He was born on Sept. 25, 1937, in Akron, Ohio, to William Wayne and Sarah (Davis) Washnock. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and later received his MBA from the University of Colorado.

On Sept. 19, 1959, he married Ann Elizabeth Oyston in Akron, Ohio.

Bill has lived in Loveland since 1981, moving from Medford Lakes, N.J.

He worked as a regional sales manager for Ametek/Lamb Electric, Western Division, for 33 years, retiring in 2003.

Bill was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Loveland, where he also served on the board of directors for the Columbarium Association, and was a member of the Loveland Police Advisory Board.

In his younger years, Bill obtained the rank of Eagle Scout, was the first U.S. Indoor Archery champion in 1970 and was invited as a guest of the Taiwanese government to help advise and coach the youth archery program. He also started the very first Ecology Day in Medford Lakes, N.J.

Bill was a marathon runner and loved bird-watching, fishing and hiking.

He is survived by his wife, Ann E. Washnock of Loveland; his daughters, Pamela Ann Washnock of Loveland, Julie Washnock and partner Anne Hayes of Fraser, Elizabeth Washnock-Butler and husband David of Peoria, Ariz.; and sister, Karyn Spencer of Akron, Ohio; brother Robert Washnock and wife Lois of Grove City, Ohio; and twin grandsons, William David and David William Butler of Peoria, Ariz.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Jodi Washnock.

Requiem Eucharist will take place at 11 a.m. July 6, 2009, at All Saints Episcopal Church, 3448 N. Taft Ave. Cremation has been completed. Inurnment will take place at the church columbarium.

Memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Episcopal Church or the American Diabetes Association in care of Kibbey Fishburn Funeral Home, 1102 N. Lincoln Ave., Loveland, CO 80537.
