A funeral service for Keith Y. Begay, 71, of Mescalero was Thursday, March 15 in the Mescalero Reformed Church with burial following at the Elk Springs Cemetery. Mr. Begay passed away March 10 in Ruidoso. He was born Feb. 19, 1936 at White Cone, Ariz.

He moved to Mescalero in 1965 from White Cone, Ariz. He had worked in maintenance for White Sands Missile Range and the Mescalero Indian Hospital. He married Meredith Magoosh June 28, 1959 in San Francisco, Calif. and she prededed him in death on April 28, 2006.
He is survived by his two children, Zelda Yazza and Sharon W. Magoosh-Begay; a brother, James Davis; a sister, Elsie Clau; his aunt, Pauline Nelson and an uncle, Sam Sepi; 10 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Zachary Begay.
