Nicky Dion McNeely, 51, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, in Lone Grove, Okla. Services will be at held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, at Griffin-Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Ed Lee and Reverend Randy Baptiste officiating.

Interment will be in Pleasant Oak Cemetery, Enville, Okla. Services are under the direction of Griffin-Hillcrest Funeral Home, Ardmore.

Nicky was born on Dec. 5, 1957, to Charles Edward and Winnie (Ned) McNeely in Talihina, Okla. Nicky attended and graduated from Plainview High School in 1976.

He went on to attend East Central University, Murray State College and Rose State College, where he received a degree in Radiology. He taught radiology techs at Chickasha, Tishomingo and Rose State College in Oklahoma City. He was asked to attend Utah State in Nuclear Medicine.

Nicky was proud of his tribal heritage as a Chickasaw and worked for the Chickasaw Nation while attending East Central University at Ada, where he was working toward a degree in Business. Although Nicky never had children, his nieces and nephews were treated as his own. He loved playing the guitar and raising horses and dogs.

He was preceded in death by his father. Nicky is survived by his mother, of the home; one brother, William Charles McNeely and wife, Vicky; two sisters, Melinda Sue Smith and husband, Jerome of Lone Grove, and Cheryl Rogers and husband, Ricky of Ardmore; and one uncle, Carns Porter of Ardmore.

Pallbearers will be Terry Ingram, Christopher Boston, Richie Smith, Charlie McNeely, Kevin McNeely and Alec Smith.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, at Griffin-Hillcrest Funeral Home.
