Louise Lorraine Achuff was the daughter of Ida Arrabella Cregar and John Roney Achuff. She was the youngest of 7 children. Her siblings were Ray Albert, Madge, Mae, William Cregar, Harry Johnson, and John Franklin Achuff.
She adopted her nephew, Quentin, after the deaths of his parents, William Cregar Achuff and Burma Naomi Stough in 1932. She provided a loving home for Quentin, taking him to visit his maternal grandparents in Ohio during the summers.
Louise was engaged to Edgar "Jake" Novander until his death in 1939. She never married.
She grew up in Streator, IL and spent her adult life living in the Chicago area. She made many road trips across the country to visit relatives and her dear friend, Marion Smith.
At the time of her death, "Grandma Louise" had 4 grandchildren (from her nephew, Quentin), and 7 great-grandchildren.
