Nona was the daughter of Cellie Walker and Lizzie Lurry Walker. She was educated in the Houston County School System. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Perry, Georgia where she served on the Senior Usher Board. She was also a member of the Addie Bryant Chapter #45, OES and Christmas Court #560 and the Herroines of Jericho.

She was married to Nora Lawson on August 24, 1942.

Survivors:
4 Sons: Jimmie Lawson, Willie B. Lawson, Albert Lawson and Leon Lawson.
3 Daughters: Doretha McKenzie, Ezarine Fenn and Oralene Billings.
2 God-Children: Bobby Thomas and Brenda Mitchell.
1 Sister: Annie Lawson.
3 Daughters-In-Law: Yvonne Lawson, Andria Lawson and Lynn Lawson.
3 Sons-In-Law: James McKenzie, Oscar Fenn and Charlie Billings Jr.
28 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren.

Services were held Wednesday, April 14,1993 at 4pm in the Sanctuary of New Hope Baptist Church in Perry, Georgia with Rev Dennis Harden Officiating.
