WILLIAM HENRY BLACK
Died Wednesday night at 10:10 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Cecil Parks, 119 Liberty Street, Williamsburg, death being attributed to a complication of ailments following a brief illness.
He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Black and was born at Oreminea on Oct. 15, 1870. He was united in marriage on Aug. 22, 1893, with Sarah Catherine Cartwright in Williamsburg, the ceremony being performed by Justice of the Peace Homer H. Hewitt. Mrs. Black died five years ago.
Surviving are four children, Roy A. Black of Akron, O., W. Arthur Black of Altoona, Charles E. Black and Mrs. Cecil Parks, both of Williamsburg; ten grandchildren and three brothers and one sister, Andrew, John Albert and Levi Black and Mrs. Mabel Johnson, all of Altoona.
Mr. Black was educated in the Royer schools and was employed by the West Virginia Pulp and Paper company in Williamsburg for twenty-eight years, retiring as a pipefitter on June 28, 1941.
Friends will be received at the Parks home after 7 o'clock this evening.
BLACK – Funeral services for William Henry Black will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Cecil Parks, 119 Liberty Street, Williamsburg, in charge of Rev. J. E. Brenneman, assisted by Rev. W. R. Rose. Interment in the Presbyterian Cemetery. Friends will be received at the daughter's house after 7 o'clock this evening.
