Mrs. Eliza A. Bruner, relict of the late Ellis H. Bruner, fell asleep in the arms of her Saviour on last Saturday, May 7, at her home in Lexington, after a lingering illness of several months. The deceased was a native of this county and lived here all of her life until a few years ago when she moved to Lexington. She was a patient sufferer and bore up under her illness with wonderful Christian fortitude. Mrs. Bruner is survived by two children, a daughter, Miss Olive, teacher in the Nicholasville graded school, and a son, Claude, who is attending school at State University. All that loving care and attention could do, was done by these children to relieve the devoted mother in her great suffering. Early in life, Mrs. Bruner gave her heart and life to God and ever lived a consistent member of the Methodist church. Funeral services were held at the Mt. Zion Methodist Episcopal Church, near Little Hickman, last Monday morning, conducted by Elder W. W. Irvin. Interment was in the Ferrell family burying ground near the old home. Obit from The Jessamine Journal issue of May 13, 1910.
