We just received word from Mullen Kemp of the death of Mrs. Lena Kerr James Monday night. Mrs. James underwent major surgery Wednesday morning of last week at a Talihina hospital for gall bladder. Following the operation she suffered a heart attack and was on the critical list. Mr. and Mrs. Mullen Kemp visited at the Talihina hospital Friday, but were not allowed to talk to her.

Funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday for Mrs. Lena Lorene Jones, life-long county resident of Hartshorne, who died in a Talihina hospital. She had been ill for some time. She was born in Blanco, Sept. 26, 1901. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors are a son, Jacob James of McAlester; two daughters, Geneva James of McAlester and Mrs. Violet Woods of Denison, Tex.; a brother, Mullen Kemp of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Rev. H. E. Cacy is scheduled to officiate. Burial will be in Brushy Cemetery and services will be held in the Brushy Baptist Church. Chaney's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
