Velma J. Beane, 74, of Tionesta died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born July 1, 1934, she was the daughter of the late David A. and Mary C. Smith Beck. Mrs. Beane was married Sept. 4, 1953, in Mayburg, Forest County, to Leo D. Beane who survives.

After losing her daughter, Hope Baka, to cancer, she was instrumental in developing and continued be an integral part of Angels of Hope, a very active Relay for Life American Cancer Society team in Tionesta. Mrs. Beane enjoyed crossword puzzles.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Beane is survived by a son, Jospeh A. Beane and his wife, Patty, of Punxsutawney; three daughters, Mary L. Schrecengost and her husband, Michael, of Beaver Falls, Toni M. Reda and her husband, Gary, of Dayton and Nancy I. Garrett and her husband,
Chris, of Roanoke, Texas; seven grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.

She also is survived by four brothers, Richard Beck and his wife Genny, David Beck and his wife Sharon, Floyd Beck and his wife Teri, and Myron Beck and his wife Connie; all of Ohio; a sister, Noma Church and her husband, Henry, of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her daughter Hope, Mrs. Beanae was preceded in death by a brother, Wilmer Beck, and five sisters, Madelyn Beane; Clara Rahenkamp; Leola Sears; Wilma Brecht and Gladys Beane.

Funeral services will be held with the Rev. Randy L. Evans, the Clarion/Forest VNA Hospice chaplain,
officiating. Interment will be at Kiffer Hill Cemetery in Hickory Township, Forest
County.
