Services: 9:30 a.m. today at the Fife Family Ranch Cemetery near Norton.

Maxine Fife, 88, died Sunday, March 19, 2006, in Tucumcari.

Mrs. Fife was born June 28, 1917, in Norton. Following her graduation, she attained her teaching certificate and was a teacher at the Rose Bud School.

She had been active on the family ranch for many years and was a member of the First Christian Church.

Mrs. Fife was preceded in death by her husband J.R. "Bob" Fife; a son, Gary Fife; a grandson, Jon Hunsucker and three sisters, Joan Rusk, Johnnie Gifford and Mary McDonald.

She is survived by three daughters, Vonnie Massey of Tucumcari, Ronney (and husband Donald) Curnutt of Orofino, Idaho and Nell (Lee) Hunsucker of Amarillo; a son, John (Paula) Fife of Flagstaff, Ariz.; two sisters, Sue Tucek and Ona Tillman; two brothers, Joe Wallace and Jack Wallace; six grandchildren, Gary and Levi Massey and Robert, Dallas, Lara and Camron Curnutt; nine great-grandchildren, Jonna Lee and Hally Hunsucker, Cody and Dillon Massey, Keith and Logan Massey and John, Ben and Elena Curnutt and two sisters-in-law, Minnie Dennis and Maxine Newby.

Albert Thornberry will officiate services.

Gary Massey, Levi Massey, Dickey Massey, Camron Curnutt, Don Curnutt, Jason Jack, Denny Welch and Tommy Wallace will serve as pallbearers.

Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.
