Graveside services for J.D. Sims are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the Friends Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Cromwell with Rev. Paskel Bevan officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
Sims, 68, died on Aug. 24, 2004 in Shawnee. He was born on July 13, 1936 in Crystal Springs, Ark. to Julius and Mary Elizabeth (Reich) Hidreth.
He married Shir-Loy Jean Chapman on Dec. 16, 1957 in Tulsa and was a resident of Okemah.
Sims retired from Ford Glass Plant where he had been an inspector for many years. He was a member of the Friends Freewill Baptist Church in Cromwell and the Elks Lodge in Broken Arrow.
His parents and a half-brother, Homer Hildreth preceded him in death.
Sims' survivors include his wife; son Jay Dee Sims of Seminole; daughter Elizabeth Sims of Meeker; brother Ray Hildreth; and four grandchildren.
