OBITUARY--STANGER
Anna Marie Margaret Gliem was born in Germany, February 16, 1828 where she grew to womanhood and lived until 1849 when she came to America, locating at St. Louis where she was married to Jacob Stanger the same year.
To this union were born five children, George, Valley Falls; Evalyn Shipley and Josephene Abel, Leavenworth; Anna Johanna Stanger at home, and Adelia who died in infancy at Valley Falls.
After staying at St. Louis, St. Joe Atchison and Topeka, the family has lived in Valley Falls since 1863. She was a member of the German Lutheran church.
After an illness of several years, cared for by her daughter Anna, death came to her relief Saturday afternoon, July 14, 1923, age 95 years, 4 months and 28 days.
The funeral services conducted by Rev. Paul Tonsing of Atchison, were held from the Lutheran church on Monday afternoon in the presence of relatives and friends.
