E. H. Garrett, 82, Succumbs In Gloucester
Gloucester - Enos Henry Garrett, 82, Gloucester County farmer, died Thursday at his home here following an extended illness.
Mr. Garrett, son of the late William Henry Jane Hammonds Garrett of Mathews, was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Foster.
He is survived by three sons, Theodore Garrett, James E. Garrett and Will Mott Garrett, all of Gloucester; four daughters, Mrs. W. Randolph Proctor and Mrs. R. Edward Shackelford of Gloucester and Mrs. Ira A. Mitchem and Mrs. George H. Fernald of Mathews; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. H. S. Willison of Gloucester; and two brothers, Howard R. Garrett of Mathews and William H. Garrett of Norfolk.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. today in Mt. Zion Methodist Church cemetery conducted by the Rev. Cahrles Fischer, assisted by the Rev. William P. Huff and the Rev. Reginald W. Eastman.
The body will rest at the Ware House Road residence until 3:30 p.m. today when the cortege will leave for the church.
Active pallbearers will be Robert T. Shackelford, Edward G. Shackelford, Atley G. Willison, Vandorn Mitchem, S. L. Mattox and Dewey W. Thompson.
