John Addison "Dock" Barnett,Jr.,aged 75 years, for 65 years a resident of the Rowell Community in Cleveland County, Arkansas, died at the home of his great nephew Robert Shelby, 18 miles southeast of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, in Lincoln County, Wednesday, May 20, 1930.

Mr. Barnett was born December 24, 1855 in LaFayette County, Texas, on Christmas Eve day, and was the son of late Thomas Addison and Sarah Hunter Goolsby Barnett, and when a boy of 10, he moved to the Rowell Community, where was a prominently identified with the life of the community for more than three score years.

Surviving him is a sister, Mrs. Virginia Clarke “Jennie” Lewis, (FAG # 61468198) of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, who was at his bedside at the time of his death. He is also survived by a number of nephews and nieces.

The Rev. Campbell of the Rowell conducted funeral Services, and was in the Rowell Cemetery on Thursday afternoon.
