Birth: 1767
Death: 1797

Mutineer. Born in Exeter, he joined the Royal Navy in 1779 but was discharged for insubordination in 1794, rejoining three years later to escape a jail sentence for debt. He joined the Fleet at the Nore and found himself involved in the mutiny that took place shortly thereafter, becoming the spokesman for the mutineers even though he had played little or no part in the initial uprising. Parker was arrested when the mutiny collapsed, and hanged on board the 'Sandwich' at Sheerness. His wife reclaimed his body, saving it from the gibbet.
