From the Obituaries at the Nelson Funeral Care website:

Gary G. Anderson, age 67 of rural Cloquet, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014 in St. Luke's Hospital, Duluth, MN from complications of blood staph infection, with his family by his side. He was born March 24, 1947 in Cloquet to George and Betty (Nelson) Anderson of Brookston, MN where he lived in his youth. Gary attended Brookston grade school and Albrook High School. It was in high school that he met and later married the love of his life and soul mate, Bonnie Obeidzinski. They were married on August 25, 1966 in Bessemer, MI.

Gary was a great provider who worked at Wood Conversion as a teenager and later at Conwed Corp. until he became a member of Ironworkers Local 563 of which he was so proud. Most of his Ironworker career was working for Oscar J. Boldt Construction and Jamar Company. Gary retired in 2002. Gary loved the outdoors, especially fishing and deer hunting, NASCAR Racing, and just being a neighborhood friend. He took great pride in his yard and loved to garden, but his best hobby was just being a great storyteller. One of his greatest accomplishments was on Easter Saturday, 2014 when he became a Catholic.

Gary is survived by his wife of 48 years, Bonnie; children, one daughter, Kimberly (Brent) Lundquist, and two sons, Tim (Missy Johnson) Anderson and Tracy Anderson; 7 grandchildren, Stacy (Shane) Cordle, Tony Workman, Jacob, Matthew, Zachary and Brock Anderson, and Kendra Kobes; 4 great-grandchildren, Garryt, Mavryk, Mayzlin, and Brittany Cordle; a special niece, Toni Morse; and his beloved pet, Scooter. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bonnie Melin, father and mother-in-law, John and Veronica Obeidzinski; nephew, Todd Melin; and many pets, especially Cruiser and Joey, who were all waiting for him at the Rainbow Bridge.

Visitation is Saturday, December 6, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Memorial Mass at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Cloquet. A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow in the church social hall.
