Alan Pierce, 75, of Windward Drive passed away on March 21, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Alan was born February 21, 1938 in Somerville, MA. the son of the late Arthur C. Pierce and Mabelle (Cater) Pierce. He received his Bachelors degree from Northeastern University and his Masters degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He was employed for many years as an Electrical Engineer for both GTE Laboratories and Contel. An Eagle Scout and a lover of life, Alan enjoyed fishing, crabbing expeditions with Aleksey and Peter, walking on the beach, watching outrageous science fiction movies, reading, listening to eclectic music and nature and her all glory. He had many articles pertaining to communications and microprocessor control published in various trade journals. He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Rhoda K. Pierce, whom he married on April 1, 1995 in Orleans, MA; a son, Gregory Pierce of Brighton, MA; a daughter, Lisa Pierce-Wirth of New Fairfield, CT.; two sisters, Marilynn Parson of Hampton, NH and Pamela J. Lamprey of York Beach, ME; and eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Arthur L. Pierce of Plymouth, MA. Donations may be made to Masonic Care Hospice of East Lyme, 339 Flanders Road, East Lyme, CT 06333; Green Manor Rehab Center, 4 Greentree Drive, Waterford, CT 06385 or to an Environmental Agencies such as the Audubon Society or Ocean Conservancy. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, 11 AM in New Town Cemetery, Sudbury, MA. The Thomas L.
