STUART, VA ~ Rosa P. Belcher, 99, formerly of 168 Trot Valley Road, Stuart, died March 18, 2004 at Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart.

She was born March 1, 1905 in Patrick County to William Royal Pilson and Alice Pendleton Pilson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Odell Belcher; two sisters: Eula Pilson and Mae Baliles; and one brother, Oscar Pilson.

Surviving are a daughter, Lorene Pratt of Martinsville; two sisters: Minnie Belcher of Plant City, Fla. and Virginia "Tootsie" Wright of Stuart; a brother, William Clyde Pilson of Stuart; one granddaughter; a great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home chapel in Stuart. The Rev. Jim Dunn will officiate. Burial will follow in Sycamore Baptist Church Cemetery in Woolwine.

Visitation is one hour prior to the service and at other times at the home, 168 Trot Valley Road.
