Franklin Clifford Eddy was born in La Junta July 1, 1925. He died May 12, 1980 at the age of 54 following an apparent massive coronary. He had attended a meeting in Saguache of the San Luis Valley Regional Planning Commission at the time that he was stricken. He was taken to the local clinic for treatment, then rushed by ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital in Del Norte.
Eddy served in the Marine Corps during World War II. He was a member of the Episcopal Church and attended the Moffat Community Church. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of Masonic Lodge No. 32, Southern Colorado Consistory, Al Kaly Shrine, SLV Sand Dunes Club, Mosca-Hooper-Moffat Service League, Citizens Panel for western San Juan Weather Modification Project.
Eddy was general manager of the Rio Grande Water Conservation District for many years.
Survivors include his widow, Twilla of the family home in Moffat; a daughter Roxann Cadwell of Pueblo; three sons, Chris of Alamosa, Mark of Pueblo and Paul of Montana; a brother Francis of La Junta.
