Carrol D. Harbaugh, age 75, of Garnavillo, IA, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, IA. Carrol was born on November 12, 1936 in Greeley Iowa, the son of Lloyd and Genevieve (Kauffman) Harbaugh. Carrol received his education from the Garnavillo School System and farmed locally for many years. On February 27, 1965, Carrol was united in marriage with Arlene Kruse at St. Peters Church in Garnavillo. This union blessed them with seven sons. Carrol was a 42 year member of the National Holstein Association and he was also a member of Farm Bureau. He was a long time member of St. Paul's Church in Garnavillo and served on various committees' and served numerous times on the church counsel. Carrol enjoyed attending Holstein shows and sales with friends and family. He lived a life dedicated to agriculture and truly enjoyed being involved with farming in any way he could. Most of all Carrol loved his family and enjoyed all events that brought them together. Carrol will be graciously missed by his wife of 47 years, Arlene; seven sons, Brenden (Julie), Bradley (Sandra), Brian (Koral), Daniel (Amy), Shane, Travis (Michelle) and Justin Harbaugh; eleven grandchildren, Jon, Brooke, Ashley, Jeremy, Joshua, Pierce, Conner, Cameron, Alayna, Adriana and Landon; one great granddaughter, Izabella; three siblings, Coletta Nieland, Gary (Janice) Harbaugh and Richard Harbaugh and many other relatives and friends. Carrol was preceded in death by his parents, three grandsons, Collin, Chance and Cassidy; two brothers, Lloyd Jr. and George Harbaugh; three sisters, Eleanor Lewine, Shirley Berns and Jackie Scherf.
In Lieu of flowers and all types of sympathy memorials are preferred and may be sent to St. Paul's Church in Garnavillo Iowa.
