Served in the RAFVR as a Wireless Operator / Air Gunner with RAF 51 Squadron at RAF Snaith, Lincolnshire.

Halifax JD262 took of from RAF Snaith at 23:27 on 3rd July 1943 and was shot down by a night fighter over Belgium.
