Callaway, NE- Ronald C. Dittmar age 83 of Oconto died Monday August 6, 2012 at the Callaway Good Samaritan Center.

Funeral services will be held on Friday August 10, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the First Lutheran Church at Buffalo, NE south of Oconto with the Reverend Victor Rasmussen officiating. Burial will be in the Christ Lutheran Cemetery. Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow is in charge of the arrangements.

Ronald C. Dittmar was born on August 12, 1928 to Charles and Ella (Neben) Dittmar on the family farm near Oconto, NE. After Ron's schooling he joined the US Army serving September of 1953 through September of 1955. He returned to the family farm south of Oconto where he spent all of his life.

As a young man Ron played baseball on the Oconto teams. He was a great card player especially at pitch and cribbage. Ron was a member of the First Lutheran Church at Buffalo, NE. Ron was also a member of the Oconto American Legion.

Ron is survived by nephews Roger Patterson, Richard Patterson, Ryan Patterson, Larry Dittmar, Paul Dittmar and one niece Sharon Malkin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Bernard and a sister Pauline.
