Robert Henry Abrams, 62, of 1104 Heathwood Dairy Rd. in Apex, died Thursday February 21st at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. He was born in Queens, NY, and a member of the NY Masonic Lodge #381. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran who served in Viet Nam, and was a member of American Legion Post #5 in Rahway, NJ. He also served as scout master for Boy Scout Troop 47 of Rahway, NJ. He was an avid Lionel Train collector. He was currently an electrician for the University of NC at Chapel Hill.
A service to celebrate his life and home going will be held on Monday February 25th at 11:00 a.m. in the Apex Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Kenneth Ray of Christ The King Lutheran Church in Cary will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Apex Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife Rita of the home; two sons: John Abrams of Raleigh and Matthew Abrams of Apex; a brother, Alan Abrams & his wife Lee of Staten Island, NY; a sister, Sheila Bloomfield & her husband Murray of Bedford Hills, NY; and many nieces and nephews.
