Doris Winifred Beatty, 86 of Sheridan, died Thursday, March 18, 1999, at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, March 20, at Kane funeral home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Kane Funeral Home.
Mrs. Beatty was born Jan. 20, 1913 in Concordia, Kan., to Arthur and Hattie Terrel Brown.
She married Orville Smith in 1930 they had two children. She married George W. Beatty of Casper, in 1948. She moved to Story in 1951 where she owned and operated the Shady Nook service station.
She later moved to Sheridan where she was employed at Sweetbriar and Yellow Front. After retirement, she worked for the civic theatre and McDonald's before returning to Story in 1997. She loved animals and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ray and Lawrence Brown, and a Great-Grandson, Wesley Huskey.
Survivors include a daughter, Jean Ewing of Story; two sons, Bill Smith of Longmont, Colo., and Capt. Marston Beatty, USAF Ret., of Sedona, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
