Ephram Brown was born in Stonington, Connecticut. For the most part he was raised their by his parents Jedediah and Anna Holmes. He had 5 brothers: Tallo, Jedediah, Shubael, Roswell and Thatcher. He also had 4 sisters, Lucy, Abigail, Martha and Desire.
His mother Abigail Holmes was the daughter of Fear Sturgis and Joshua Holmes. Fear was the daughter of Temperance Gorham who married Edward Sturgis. Temperance was the daughter of John Gorham Sr. and Desire Howland. Desire was the daughter of 2 Mayflower passengers John Howland and his wife Elizabeth Tilley. Elizabeth Tilley came aboard the Mayflower as the 13 year old only daughter of John and Joan Hurst Tilley. They both died their first year (1621) first arriving in "The New World" in the winter of 1620. John came as a man servant to John Carver and John Carver took Elizabeth in as an adopted daughter after her parents died. They married about 1624.
John and Elizabeth had 10 children.

Ephraim married Deborah Brown and they had at least 2 sons Ephraim and Charles and 3 daughters, Deborah, Lydia, and Eliza. I have not found much information on him so far but his daughter Lydia was my 3rd great grandmother and she married Ira Spear Frary. If anyone has any more information please send me a note or email. Thanks.I was able to locate a census 1850 in Stockbridge NY and also one in 1860 in New Milford Conn. But neither says what he used to do as a profession. I do know that my 3rd great grandmother Lydia was born in North Stonington, Ct. married Ira Frary in Sandgate VT and lived there. Ira and Lydia had several children moved to Michigan and had my Great Great grandmother Chloe Jane Frary who married my Great grandfather Joseph Moon. They had 8 daughters and a son Joseph Moon finda grave #71999009 who was my great grandfather who married Mary St Clair findagrave #23911690
