Waterman Bestow, son of John C. Bestow and Phoebe Alnetta Branch Bestow, was married three times. He married first in 1867 to Florence Ada Rinard and they had three daughters: Martha A. "Mattie", Lucy Ada, and Carrie B.
After Florence died in 1877, Wat married Martha A Grow, the widow of James Branch. They married in 1878 at Fairfield's Jackson House. They had no children and Martha died just four years later of consumption.
In 1883, Wat was still a young 36 and married third to Samantha "Mantie" B. Karr and they had att least seven children. Five girls: Bessie, Jessie, Edna, Blanche, Phoebe; and two boys Lowell J. and Lynn.
He died in 1915. Obit excerpt: "...pallbearers, all men of his Sunday school class, carried the body to the church and then to Bestow cemetery. Uncle Wat, as he was lovingly called, was a man whose place cannot be filled, but whoese memory and Godly influence will live forever... attending funeral included George Adams of Muskogee, OK, Mrs. Jane Rochelle and Miss Agnes Rochell, Rinard..."
