Well Known Princeton Man Passes Away
Princeton, Jan. 8 - David S. Baker, a well known local resident, passed away at his home here this morning at 5 o'clock. He was aged 57 years(sic), 7 months and 12 days.
Deceased had been a resident of Colusa county for more than forty years, having been in the saloon business in Colusa previous to coming here about sixteen years ago. While here he conducted a notion store. He is survived by a widow living in San Francisco and a number of nieces and nephews. He was a brother of the late Steve Baker of Grimes.
He was a member of Colusa council, Knights of Columbus. The funeral will be held Monday from Our Lady of Lourdes church at Colusa and will be in charge of J. D. McNary & Son.
Note: It is not likely David was really a brother of Stephen Baker of Grimes since his father was named George Baker and Stephen was a son of Alfred.
