Requiem mass will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Colusa for Mary Teresa Baker who died Dec. 1 in an Alameda hospital. Interment will follow at the Colusa Catholic Cemetery under the direction of McNary-Moore Funeral Service. She was 88.
A native of Grimes, California, she was born April 22, 1893. Her family were pioneers in the Grimes area. She was the daughter of the late Steve and Ann Baker. Attending local schools and Mills College, she graduated from Chico State with a teaching degree and taught in Colusa County, Napa and Sacramento before moving to San Francisco where she made her home for many years. She was a member of the Catholic Church.
Illness caused her hospitalization in Alameda about four years ago where she has since been.
She was preceded in death about six months ago by her brother, Dr. Harry V. Baker of Napa.
Her survivors include the following nieces and nephews: Audrey Clark of Danville; Barbara Wagner of Fremont; Stephena Todd of Santa Rosa; Teresa Zimmerman of Santa Rosa; Rebecca Powers of Dunnigan and Floyd Todd, Jr. of South San Francisco.
