Julia R. Trujillo

Thursday, February 12, 2009
Julia R. Trujillo, beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend to all was called home by the Lord, family and friends on Monday, February 9, 2009. She was 57 years old.

Julia was born on January 7, 1952, in Pagosa Springs, Colo., to the late Deciderio and Eloisa Chavez. She was lovingly adopted and raised by her late Aunt and Uncle Samuel and Ester Trujillo.

She is survived by her loving children Nancy Vigil, Nathan and Samantha Trujillo; grandchildren, Demetrius Trujillo and Alyssa Martinez; brothers and sisters Herman and Billy Chavez, Leonard Trujillo, Darlene O'Brien, Leora Mannera, Henrietta Martinez, Alice Orona; several nephews and nieces; and a rather large extended family. She was reunited with brothers Demetro, Joe and Steve Chavez, as well as her sister, Virginia Chavez.

To say that Julia was a loving mother is an understatement. The love she gave her children and grandchildren was unconditional and conveyed with every ounce of her heart.

Though Julia's immediate family was her priority, God blessed her with a heart big enough to love and care for everyone she encountered. She was a cherished member of the Pagosa Springs community. Her selfless love, caring, and devotion will be missed by all.

A Rosary will be held at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Pagosa Springs, at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13. Funeral services will take place at the same location on Saturday, Feb.14, at 10a.m. Burial to take place at the Westside Ignacio Cemetery followed by a dinner at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church Parish Hall at 3 p.m.

An account has been established in Julia's name at the Citizen's Bank in Pagosa Springs, Colo., to help with funeral expenses.
