Richard Louis Allard, 75, of the 1700 block of Greenhouse Road, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2008. Born in Burlington, Vt., Mr. Allard was a retired lieutenant commander with the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Anne Allard; three sons, Dennis A. Allard and wife Donna of Virginia Beach, Richard "Rick" Allard and wife Sherry of Chesapeake, and Brian D. Allard of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren, Catherine Anne, Leslie Ellen and Christopher Michael; two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Olivia Washington; and seven brothers and sisters, Betty Bourgea, Peter Allard, John Allard, Henry Allard, Janet LeTourneau, Carol Laware and Ellen Boucher. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Hollomon- Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, with Father Bill Pitt officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Navy Relief Fund Society. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
