HYDRO, Okla. -- Clifford Allen Hartzler, 83, died Sunday (Sept. 5, 1999) at his home in Hydro, Okla. He was the father of Jerilyn Ediger of Hesston.
He was born Aug. 28, 1916, in Brandon, Colo., to Joseph G. and Martha (Heatwole) Hartzler. He married Velma Brunk March 24, 1940, in Windom. She survives.
He grew up in McPherson County and had been a resident of Hydro since 1995.
Other survivors include: two sons, Curtis Hartzler of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and Galen Hartzler of Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada; another daughter, Edith Entz of Hydro, Okla.; four sisters, Mildred Myers and Ethel Lind, both of Albany, Ore., Leona Watson of Cranbrook, British Columbia, Canada, and Ida Slagell of Hydro, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Thursday at Pleasant View Mennonite Church near Hydro, with the Revs. Joe Wood and Jason Swihart officiating. Burial followed at Pleasant View Mennonite Cemetery.
