Carl Bayard Baehr
2/7/1971-6/4/2007

Carl Baehr, at age 36, made his transition at 12:00 June 4, 2007. His courageous ten year battle against cancer began at age 26; he took the high road every day as he fought the good fight. He was a wonderful man who smiled, joked, and was always willing to give a helping hand. His family and friends meant everything to him.
Carl graduated from Bowman Elementary and was a Placer High School Graduate, Class of 1990. He loved Auburn and his job at Gold Rush Chevrolet-Subaru. He had many good friends in the Auburn community and elsewhere. Carl learned to swim at six months, began snow skiing at age two, two sports he excelled in. His favorite weekly event was having breakfast Wednesdays with his mom Violet and dad Donald at the Wings restaurant at the Auburn airport. He enjoyed sailing, golf, and as of late motorcycling. He loved his Harley. He was also a home loving man, enjoying computer gaming, movies, reading, barbecuing and gardening. Carl was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Auburn and the Masons Eureka Lodge No 16.
He is survived by his mother Violet Ray (Nelson) Lacson and stepfather Donald R. Lacson of Auburn, Calif.; aunts Joan M. Nelson of Nevada City, Calif. and Molly Rapp of Mahwah, NJ; uncles: Michael J Nelson of Benicia, Calif., Walter B. Baehr of Pioneer, Calif., Edward A. Rapp of Mahwah, NJ; grandparents Edward and Ann Baehr of Meeks Bay Tahoe, Calif.; father Carl E. Baehr; cousins Charles Rapp, Dan Rapp, Jim Rapp of Mahwah, NJ, Annette and Donald Lacson, Jenni Toedtemeier of Grass Valley, Calif., Debby Engusen of Auburn, Calif., Kimberly and Tracy Rapp.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Auburn, Calif., tentatively scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday June 16, 2007. Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made to the Make-a-Wish Foundation in Carl's name or to the Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary, Nevada City, Calif.
