LUTHERAN RITES SET FOR FRIDAY

Zane Hackett Gordon, 63, of 3103 E. Weaver Pl., Littleton, (now Centennial), Colorado. died Tuesday at Porter Hospital. He had lived in Littleton since the end of World War II, worked as a stationary engineer for Gates Rubber Co. for 17 years, and was more recently with May D&F at University Hills. Before coming to Colorado in 1939, he secured hotel leases for the Milner chain of Detroit and trained new managers.

Mr. Gordon was born in Pittsford, Michigan, on June 24, 1912, to Arthur Jay and Ruby May (Hackett) Gordon and was educated at Michigan Tech University at Houghton Michigan. During World War II he was in the medical corps at Buckley Field, Aurora, Colorado, rising to the rank of sergeant major.

On January 8, 1944 he married the former Esther Schmidt of Buffalo, Nebraska, in Denver, Colorado. Soon after they bought a house on the outskirts of Denver at 55 S Colorado Boulevard. Here they had five children, Dean, Bruce, twins Jean and Joan, and Zane Arthur.

The couple moved to Littleton, Colorado in 1952, and resided at 446 S Windermere (now 6050 S Windermere). In 1954 they became charter members of Ascension Lutheran Church.

Besides his wife, Mr. Gordon leaves five children and five grandchildren. The children R. Dean Gordon of 6823 S Dexter St., Bruce of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Jean Thompson of Earlham, Iowa, Joan Ory of Van Meter, Iowa, and Zane Arthur of 3103 E. Weaver Pl, Littleton, (now Centennial) Colorado, and his mother Ruth (Ruby) Kimball Ramstetter of 1601 N. Jackson St., Denver, Colorado.

Pastor Lawrence W. Brandt of Ascension Lutheran will hold rites at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the church. The Drinkwine chapel will then take the body to Buffalo, Nebraska, for second rites at 2:00 p.m. Saturday. Burial will follow at nearby Buffalo Lutheran Cemetery.
