Charles Ervin Buford, age 74, died Wednesday, May 5, 1993 at Trace Regional Hospital in Houston. Funeral services were held Friday, May 7 at Houston Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery with the Rev. Elkin Heair officiating.
The son of the late John Buford and the late Maude Stewart Buford, he was born in Stewart and lived most of his life in Houston. He was a retired night watchman for Shannon Chair Company in Houston and was a member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lizzie Brassfield Buford of Houston; five daughters, Mrs. Virgie Rucker, Mrs. Charlotte Barnett, Mrs. Theacer Pettit and Mrs. Alice Watson, all of Houston and Mrs. Martha Conner of Van Vleet; three sons, Sammy Buford of Brandon, James Buford of Illinois and Jerry Buford of Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Colburn and Mrs. Lottie Wright, both of Houston; two half brothers, Troy Brassfield and John Brassfield, both of Houston; 23 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
