Martha Medlin Alford 73, of 1761 Moores Pond Rd. passed away Thursday surrounded by her family at Guardian Care Nursing home in Zebulon. A native of Wake County, daughter of Lonnie and Lela Medlin Poole of Wakefield. She worked at Square D in the accounting department. Martha was a loving wife and mother who was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren. She loved flowers and gardening and everything outdoors. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, in the Strickland Funeral Home chapel, Wendell with burial to follow in the Zebulon Town Cemetery. She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Leo Alford of the home; daughter, Donna Sue Bebout and husband, Dean of Greensboro; son, Jimmy Medlin, Jr. and wife, Mia of Dudley; son, Frankie and wife, Christy of Youngsville; stepchildren, Herbie, Carolyn, Allison, and Robert; grandchildren, Erin Elizabeth Bailey, Mary Catherine Bebout, Andrew and Jimmy D Medlin III, and Brandon Arnold Medlin; step grandchildren, Abby, Jermy, Timmy, Johnny, Wesly, Jr., Lee Ann, Ryan, and Justin; six step-great grandchildren; brother, Lonnie Poole and wife, Lou Ellen of Zebulon; sister, Diane Tant and husband, Edward Tant of Zebulon. Visitation will be 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Strickland Funeral Home, 211 W. Third St., Wendell, and other times at the home. www.stricklandfuneralhomes.net
