Lowell Paul Ackerman, 83, of Rice Lake died Nov. 15 at Lakeview Medical Center. No funeral servied are planned. Interment is at a later date at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery near Spooner.
Mr. Ackerman was born Dec. 4, 1923 in Lancaster to Edward and Barbara (Kravs) Ackerman. He grew up on the family farm in Monroe and attended Monroe schools. Mr. Ackerman was a Merchant Marine on the Eric V. Hauser. The ship was commissioned into service by the Coast Guard during WW II. Mr. Ackerman worked in several states and then spent the majority of his life in southern California, where he was a carpenter installing hardwood floors and also worked as a general handyman. He enjoyed his many pets, baseball and country music.
He is survived by a niece, Lorene Millard of Rice Lake; and a special friend, Linda Miconi of California. -11/21/07
