WEST POINT [Clay Co.]-Travis Earl Alford, 68, a retired U.S. Army master sergeant, died of cancer Monday [October 25] at Clay County Medical Center
Services are at 2 p.m. today at Nowell-Robinson Funeral Home with burial in Arbor Grove Cemetery [Chickasaw Co.].
Mr. Alford, a native of Thorn [Chickasaw Co.], had lived in West Point 32 years. He was a World War II and Korean War veteran. He had also retired from Dubuque Packing Co. and Bryan Foods.
Survivors include: wife, Jean; son, Mike Murphree of New York; daughters, Linda Holley of New Orleans, Charlotte Messier of Brattleboro, Vt., Debbie Anthony of Tupelo and Jeannie Johnson of West Point; brother, Merrill Alford of Vardaman; sister, Josephine Bennett of Hickory Flat; and four grandchildren..
