Freeman was the twin of Daniel Carsley. His "Intention of Marriage" to Almeda E. (Davis) was recorded 11/08/1835 in Sangerville, ME. Their 7 children: Francis William, Benjamin Kimball, John Freeman, Cordelia Eliza, Henry Dearth, Caroline Davis, Eveline A. Carsley.
When Freeman & his twin brother turned 21 they received 100 acres of land in Dover, ME, that had been willed to them by their father & held in trust for them by their older brother, Ebenezer, until they became of age. Each received 50 acres on 10/13/1829. They sold their land for $380 on 03/10/1832, and then bought 200 acres of land in South Sangerville, between Gilman Corners & French Mills, about midway between Alder Brook & the French Mills stream. On 04/06/1847 they sold parts of Lots 26 & 27 on which they lived & jointly owned, to Leonard Dearth, their brother-in-law, who married their sister, Fanny. On 04/16/1849 they divided up the jointly owned farm, Daniel taking the westerly 80 acres, where the dwelling stood, & Freeman taking the easterly 120 acres. After this division, Freeman moved away, while Danile lived there for the rest of his life.
