BLACK ROCK, Ariz. — Funeral services for Chauncey M. Neboyia, 103, will be today, Friday, Jan. 27 at 10 a.m. in Black Rock. Burial will be held in Black Rock.

Neboyia died on Jan. 21 in Chinle. He was born March 6, 1903 in Canyon Del Muerto into the Water Flows Together People Clan for the Salt People Clan.

Neboyia attended grammar school at the Fort Apache Boarding School. He has worked for 62 years with the National Park Services as an archeologist excavator's assistant, consultant-interpreter, tour guide and a narrator for a film production companies.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy Y. Neboyia; sons, Thomas Neboyia of Chinle and Bobby Neboyia of North Hollywood, Calif.; daughters, Alice Anagal and Priscilla Neboyia, both of Chinle, Helen Yazzie of Pinon; 44 grandchildren, 104 great grandchildren, and 25 great-great grandchildren.

Neboyia was preceded in death by his parents Yellow Mustache Begay Sr. and Asah Bah Begay; brothers, Yellow Mustache II, Jack, Freddie, Morris Draper, William Draper and Notah Draper; sisters, Ason Ben, Adele Thompson, and Mildred Yazzie; daughter Mary Staley; two grandsons, and one great grandchild.

Pallbearers will be the Twin Warrior Society (Veterans group) from Fort Defiance.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Alice M. Anagal's residence in Chinle.
