Charlotte Fern German, 52, daughter of Charley and Dollie Stringer Cook, was born Jan. 25, 1943, at Hartshorn. She died Sept. 20,1995, at Lester E. Cox Medical Center South in Springfield. She married Edward German Dec. 22, 1961, and they lived in the Hartshorn /Summersville area. Mrs. German was a member of the Valley Center Baptist Church and worked at Angelica in Summersville until her health forced her retirement in March. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Carl. Surviving are her husband, Edward, of Hartshorn; her mother, Dollie Cook of Mountain View Health Care in Mountain View; five brothers, Oswald "Shorty" Cook of Summersville, Olen Cook, Clyde Cook, Lloyd Cook and Claude Cook of Hartshorn; one sister, Bonnie Vandevort of Mountain View. Services were Sept. 22 at the Valley Center Baptist Church with the Rev. Phil Jester officiating. Burial was in the Valley Center Cemetery under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home of Summersville.
