wife of GHR - 78y 2d.
Marie Christine (Wittive) Froboese [Frobasa] emigrated from the Bremen Port in Germany to New Orleans, Louisiana, arriving on October 16, 1858, accompanied by her bachelor son, Henry Christoph Frobasa who was listed as 31 and she was 63. Prior to the mother and son immigrating to the US, Marie’s older daughter, Marie Dorothea (Frobasa) Baumgarten (1821-1887) had immigrated to Marion County, Iowa with her husband, Heinrich Frederich Baumgarten, Sr. (1813-1892). On the same ship as Marie and Henry was his life long friend, Ernst Hartz who was then 31 years old and also single. Their farms would abut each other in Franklin Township. The ship they arrived on was the “Anna Delius”. Ernst married Louise Lohse after coming home from the Civil War. Henry Frobasa never served – probably because he had a widowed mother.
