Former Stark County Man Dies In Pekin; Rites Last Week
Funeral services for George Alva Aby were held Wednesday afternoon August 10, at 2 o'clock in St. Paul's Evangelical church at Pekin and burial was in Forrest City Cemetery in Forrest City.
George Alva Aby, son of Florence Albert and Charlotte Aby, was born March 16, 1877 in Stark county and died Sunday, July 31, at his home in Pekin after an illness of several months.
He was united in marriage in 1906 to Ada Jackson, who preceded him in death in 1923. To this union was born a daughter, Elizabeth Charlotte. He was united in marriage October 6, 1923 to Mrs. Ethel Klump of Pekin.
Mr. Aby was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical church in Pekin and the church Brotherhood. He was also a member of the Pekin fire department.
Survivors are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Barbour, one step-daughter and three grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Ernest Aby of Dunlap, Two sisters, Mrs. German Crowe and Mrs. Myrtle McKee of Fairfield, Ia., several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
