Jack N. Bellamy, 86, Oak Hill, died Friday, October 10, 2014 at his home.

Mr. Bellamy, a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II, was born in Jacksonville and had been a lifelong Oak Hill resident. He was a firefighter with Pan Am at Kennedy Space Center before his retirement and was a commercial fisherman and orange grove owner in Oak Hill. He enjoyed extensively traveling with his wife Betty, throughout Europe and Asia and was an avid ballroom, country music and line dancer.

Survivors include two daughters, Leslie Elaine and Rebecca Lynn Bellamy, both of Oak Hill; two grandchildren, Cameron and Kamisha Wood, both of Oak Hill and four great-grandchildren, Jade, Brinkley, Madison and Cameryn Grace.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Bellamy in 2010.

Memorial service will be 10 AM Friday, October 17, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Oak Hill, 192 E. Halifax Ave., Oak Hill with Dr. Timothy Palmer, Pastor, officiating. Cremains burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Oak Hill. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your preferred animal shelter.
