Casualty of WWII, Robert was an Aircraftman 1st Class in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve~Service No:1244037.He was killed at 36 Jackson Street by the last V2 Rocket which fell on Woolwich.

He was 24 and the son of John McKay Banner and of Jane Banner (nee Pavitt) of Woolwich.


His wife May Catherine Banner (nee Guntrip) was killed in the same incident and she was laid to rest with him.
