Timothy G. Barrett, 59, the son of Philip and Ruth Barrett of Kirksville, passed away on February 22, 2011 in Glenwood, Arkansas.
Tim was survived by one son, Zach Barrett.
He also was survived by siblings Dale Barrett of Kirksville, Frieda Barrett of O'Fallon, MO and Jeanne Day of Lake St. Louis, MO. He also was survived by an Aunt and Uncle, Charles and Natalie Cannaday of Kirksville, special cousins, Bob and Marilyn Barrett of Kirksville, and other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins from Kirksville and outside the area. He also was survived by a good friend, care taker and the Mother of his son, Vicki Barrett of Norman, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grand parents, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Tim was born in Kirksville on February 27, 1952, graduated from Kirksville High School and attended Northeast Missouri State University (Now Truman State University).
Tim served in the U.S. Army and was Honorably Discharged. He assisted in the clean up of the Enewetak Atoll in the Pacific Ocean.
Tim graduated from St. Mary's School of nursing and worked as an R.N. primarily in the St. Louis area for several years. Tim also was a great salesperson, having learned the craft working in his parents farm machinery business, Kirksville Equipment Co.
A memorial service, presided over by the Rev. Dick Detweiler and Rev. Richard Northcutt will be held on Friday, June 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church, 300 E. Washington, Kirksville, MO 63501. Visitation with the family will be at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice or the education fund of Zach Barrett.
