Mr. Aigner was born on July 26, 1923 to William and Ethel Loff Aigner in Wolverton, MN where he attended public schools. He later attended the University of Portland.
As a Staff Sergeant, he served in WWII with the 8th Army Air force with the 306th Bomb Group. 367th Squadron. He was stationed in England and flew 28 missions over Germany as a belly ball turret gunner and flight engineer in the Boeing B-17 fighting fortress. He was awarded the Air Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross.
He worked three years for Lee Ryan Jewelers in Portland, OR. From 1954 to 1969 he worked for Arthur (Curly) Grossman at Lucky Loan & Diamond Brokers as a clerk. He eventually purchased the business and operated it under the name Aigner's Diamond & Loan Brokers. He and his wife moved to Kona, HI in 1974 where he owned and operated Aigner's Gems International. He retired in 1997 and resided in Kailua Kona, Hawaii until 2009 at which time they moved to Columbia, MO.
