Henry Clay And Married Sarah moved to mississippi around 1841 settling near Old Cumberland in Webster County Where they lived till they died.Henry Clay was a farmer,owning slaves and was a pioneer school teacher,teaching (1845)in the first public school bulding in Webster County located near Bellefontaine.Henry and Sarah Avent aka Avant obtained land grant for 155 acres in 21 N Range 17 E in what was then Choctaw County, MS. They are in 1850, 1860, and 1870 Choctaw County census. The last census for Henry and Sarah Avent aka Avant was in 1880 in Sumner County, Mississippi. The CSA Memorial Marker is not a tombstone.
