Louie F. Aleshire, age 66, of St. Clair, Mo., formerly of Plymouth, Ill., died Tuesday, March 8, 1988 at the St. John's Mercy Hospital in Washington, Mo.
He was born December 30, 1921 in Hancock County, the son of Olin and Ruth (Hendrickson) Aleshire.
On December 24, 1945 he married Dorothy (Spillman) at the home of her parents, the Rev. and Mrs. John Spillman in McDonough County. Louie and Dorothy were blessed by the arrival of twin boys, Brent and Kent, in November, 1958.
Louie was a member of the Parkway Church of the Nazarene in St. Clair where he has resided since April 1961. Louie was the music director for ten years and a long time Sunday School teacher. He served as alderman of the St. Clair City Council for two terms. He was a veteran of WW II serving in England from April 1943 to August 1945. He was a past commander of the American Legion Post #912 in Plymouth.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services were Thursday morning at the Russel Colonial Chapel in St. Clair, Mo. conducted by Rev. Lowell Welker. Burial was in the Rosemont Cemetery in Plymouth on Thursday afternoon. At the graveside services, the Rev. Welker was assisted by Rev. Delbert Findley and Rev. A.S. McKinley.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy, two sons, Brent Aleshire and wife, Terry; Kent Aleshire and wife, Kathy, a sister, Louise Chronister and husband, Burl, and grandchildren, Jeremy, Elizabeth, Victoria, Melissa, Kayla, Derek, and Devon, step-mother Mary Gilreath and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
