Curtis Holderby, 77, of Tahlequah, died Sunday at the Tahlequah City Hospital.
Services will be held Wednesday 10 a.m. at the Reed-Culver Chapel with Elder O.T. Whitten officiating. Assisting will be Curtis Linville and C.W. Maher.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Russell Holderby, Terry Holderby, Tim Holderby,Jeff Holderby, Donny Cook and Gary Mazie. Burial will be White Oak Cemetery in Qualls, under the directions of Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
He was born June 1, 1911 in Cherokee County, the first child of Hattie Mealer Holderby and Oscar Holderby. He was united in marriage to Eunice Walker, February 25, 1933. He worked at Camp Gruber during World War II and spent most of his life as a Truck Driver and farmer. He retired from the Tahlequah Ready Mix in 1978 after 15 years of service. Mr. Holderby served several years on the School Board at the Stone Chapel School. He was a member of the Church of God (Seventh Day), he served on the local board, as Assistant superintendent, also supertintendent and teacher of the adult class.
Survivors, include his wife, Eunice of the home; two sons Codean of Keys, MC of Fort Gibson; one daughter Jewell Linville of Tahlequah; four brothers, Harley and Olan of Calif., Oscar Jr., of Colcord, Virgil of Texas; three sisters, Bernie Kirk, Maxine Walker and Bobbie Herron all of Tahlequah; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
